Who We Are: The chosters

We’re a close-knit team of creative, tech-savvy, gadget-loving, gamer types who started as a small PR shop focusing on video games. As the world of PR and marketing transformed during the last two decades, so did our agency.

Now, twenty years later, we are a dynamic agency offering smart, strategic digital marketing and PR services. Our clients come from a variety of sectors — consumer electronics, apps, software, toys, technology and video games – and include large corporations, startups and everything in between.

Since our full company name is cho HighWater Group (cho means come hell or), we often refer to ourselves as ‘chosters’. But what is a choster?? What makes them tick?? Well over the last 20 years, we’ve also noticed some consistent traits amongst us:

  • Dog People 75% 75%
  • Tech Obsessed 90% 90%
  • ENJOY Jogging 5% 5%
  • Constantly Disappointed By Their Sports Teams 45% 45%

Lance Seymour

Lance Seymour

Based in sunny San Diego, Lance refuses to believe that his weather jokes have gone stale to his East Coast colleagues. Prior to co-founding HighWater Group, Lance held senior PR positions at global powerhouse game publishers Take Two & GT Interactive. He graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Business Administration, where he also played on the golf team and simultaneously wowed people with his long tee shots and inability to putt.
Dan Harnett

Dan Harnett

Dan started HighWater Group back in 1999 with Lance, whose bio is right next door but whose office is 3,000 miles away. Prior to that he led global PR teams at publicly traded video game companies, including GT Interactive and Acclaim Entertainment. He is a US Marine Corps veteran and a rabid NY Ranger fan who thinks Henrik Lundqvist is a hall of fame goalie despite the lack of Stanley Cups. Don’t be fooled by the smiling picture, Dan has never liked sweater vests – especially the fake kind where the sweater is actually sewn onto the shirt like the one he is wearing.
